The Martian is an adaptation of a best-selling novel about astronaut Mark Watney who left on Mars and presumed dead by his colleagues in order to escape a fierce Martian storm. Stranded alone with meager supplies on the hostile red planet, he needs to figure out how survive. While it is impossible for plant to survive in the Martial environment, he was able to figure out how plant potatoes and also figure out how to contact Earth and inform NASA that he is alive.

NASA and some international scientist had to figure out how to bring home “The Martian”. They had to use Mark Watney’s colleagues who are still in space and are traveling towards Earth.

The movie has a great plot and is easy to follow and also hilarious. Some of the shots, especially scenes of the red planet environment are stunning with the red sand dunes and mountains of rock outcroppings. Disco music from the 70’s was also properly utilized and blended very well to make the movie a wholesome hit.

The Martian is so far the best film directed by Ridley Scott, he can make wonders with the right script. Matt Damon and Jessica Chastain did a convincing job so with the rest of the supporting cast. While they did all a great job, Matt Damon and Jessica Chastain have done this before in Interstellar their previous movie together with almost the similar plot; it looks like they are being typecast together.

This is a great summer movie, big production design, great story with great cast; this is not one of those summer popcorn movies. While there is a few holes here and there especially the science part, it is a great movie and very entertaining. Using an iptv can give you access to many more interesting movies like the Martian.
